Slurping up melted ice cream. Disgusting or ok?!

Question:

Slurping up melted ice cream. Disgusting or ok?

When you eat ice cream out of a cup or glass and some of the melted stuff is left after you've finished, do you let it be or slurp it up in a straw? Personally, I find it disgusting. I can't stand it when someone slurps up the milky remains at the bottom of the cup or glass.

yeah, I know ice cream is a milky liquid state to begin with until it's frozen. I'm talking about the part where it melts again.

I wouldn't go so far as to get a straw and suck up the residue, especially in a restaurant. However, if my ice cream gets a bit melty, I enjoy scooping it up with my sppon and eating it like a soup. Yummy!

ice cream is slurpy to begin with,,toughen up,,it`s gonna be a long summer..............

yuck, lol. if i couldnt get it out i wouldleave it!

I used to mix my icecream round-and-round with a spoon in my bowl until it nearly melted and then eat it so to each his own!

Remove the straw and use a spoon to eat the rest.

If its expensive or really good I will slurp.

It's considered rude.

well i dont exactly like it when the milky remains get melted again and then you drink/eat it. i think it tastes different. but if you drink/eat the milky remains right after you eat the ice cream its no different and i dont think there is a problem. its just ice cream in liquid form.

Then you can't stand me. I like to melt part of my ice cream and devour it slurpiness. The same I do with chocolate, I like how they melt on my fingers and lick em clean...

Maybe they're just my hidden desires for something else... hahaha...

What the hell is the difference. I slurp it up....Its damn good!
Why, does it remind you of something else, you don't like doing?

It depends on what culture you are in. In America it is rude to slurp soup and suck up noodles. But in Japan it is perfectly acceptable.

Don't be so judgemental...

We do not live in Japan, In Germany it's considered a compliment to the cook if you let out a big juicy burp after the meal...before leaving the table. We don't accept that here, do we? Proper etiquette would dictate that slurping is indeed not acceptable. I am a total ice cream nut (Breyers natural vanilla). I will not slurp, it's just plain offensive. Like the TV commercial where the guy turns his flex-straw upside down and slurps out the glass, the other guy at the table (if it were me) would just slap a turd right out of that idiot, right where he sits. More acceptable alternatives are to make a milk shake, and drink it out. Even better, make a malted. They are equally delicious.
