Anyone have any suggestions or ideas for German side dishes, with or without recipes?!

Question: Anyone have any suggestions or ideas for German side dishes, with or without recipes?
I'm invited to an Oktoberfest at a friends house, they are supplying the brautwerst (or however you spell it) and beer, everyone else needs to bring their favorite German side dish or German desert. I don't have anything other than I love sauerkraut but that's not going to do much.

Need suggestions, help, recipes (possibly). Thanks one and all!
