It's not worth really anymore today. Hennessy Cognac does not age anymore once it's in the bottle,
Why apraise it, Drink it! What do you want to sell it to someone else who is just going to drink it? Yes there maybe a 100 year old bottle of scotch sitting on someone's shelf but it is a waste as it has passed from hand to hand never being enjoyed by anyone. If it gets broke then it is just wasted.
Save it for a nice celebration time and just enjoy it. I never could understand why people save stuff like that for so long. Did you know that Wine does not get better with age, it will turn to viniger since the cork degrades and allows air and micro orginisioms to get it and ruin it. True deal, hubby used to run the lines in Modesto for EJ Gallo winery. Oh and did you know they make bones farm too> It is made from the acohol that is take from the wine that doesn't get used in the "expensive" bottles. Sugar is added and it is rebottled and sold.
Save it for a special celebration and enjoy it with family and friends, remember you can't take it with you and you sure don't want to will it to someone who will just drink it anyway.
Whiskey is aged in charred oak barrells for how ever many years are specified on the bottle. This is when the clear almost tastless liquor takes on it's color and taste. Generally the longer it's aged the better, but once it's bottled the aging ends. An old bottle is only worth more if it was an exceptionally good bottle to begin with and is now rare.
Older bottles of high-end Hennessy Cognacs such as Paradis or Richard may be of interest to a collector due to rarity but VS, VSOP & even X.0. Cognacs will likely have little increased value.
