Importing wine for personal consumption?!

Question:

Importing wine for personal consumption?

I can buy wine from France for my personal consumption (i.e a couple of cases from time to time). Do I need a special license or can I just buy and pay shipping + import taxes?

It is for personal consumption. If I buy 1 or 2 cases can I have them shipped as samples?

For importing wine, you will have to attain a special permit and pay taxes on the wine. Not only that, but you have to figure the euro to dollar exchange rate. Plus, you will have to insure the parcel so if by chanve a bottle breaks you won't be screwed.

Basically, get ready to pay out your hole.

I work at a liquor store where I handle all of our shipping.

It depends on which country (or, if American, your State) you live in.
