How to prepare to chicken for Butter Chicken?!

Question: How to prepare to chicken for Butter Chicken?
So I have this paste that I can use to make butter chicken, and I only have to supply the chicken. I made it before just pan frying the chicken, but it seemed like I was selling it short. It tasted great, but I knew it could be better. I hear the most of the time it is marinated and such, but I haven't been able to find a good recipe for just the chicken...not the whole dish. Any suggestions?

If you do not have a Tandoori oven then marinate the chicken pieces, I use boneless skinless thighs, then cook them in the oven, with reasonable heat, while there cooking make the sauce, and when brown, finish them in the sauce, the spice paste can be used for the sauce, just add it to some ginger, garlic, onions and spices fried in oil, add a small amount of stock and tomato puree or sauce, the chicken, simmer slowly finish with some cream or plain yogurt (5-8% M.F) serve with rice, a garnish of chopped cilantro.

Ingredients
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup crushed buttery round cracker crumbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
ground black pepper to taste
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces
Directions
1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2.Place eggs and cracker crumbs in two separate shallow bowls. Mix cracker crumbs with garlic salt and pepper. Dip chicken in the eggs, then dredge in the crumb mixture to coat.
3.Arrange coated chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place pieces of butter around the chicken.
4.Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear
