How are the shells taking off sunflower and pumpkin seeds.. does a person do them one by one or is there a clever machine that does it and how does it work?!

im eating sunflower seeds now (yummy) and just wondered!

i know they come from a pumkin!!.. i called it a shell, maybe thats not the correct name or way to put it.. lol but they do have an outer bit you take off.. how?

I am pretty sure they have a clever machine that takes the sheels off. But where is the fun in that? You forget to enjoy them that way. The best part about eating them in my opinion is to take them out of the shell.

And yes they both have shells.

They don't have shells! Pumpkin seeds come from the inside of a pumpkin!!

i thought that pumkin seeds had a shell, i'm sure i have a packet at home that i've been shelling as i eat! i'm going to have to double check as soon as i get in
