Question: Making chili at the moment all ingredients are in and its watery. Help?
making chili right now and its watery at the top but thick at the bottom.. help me out. (first time using yahoo answers)

Thiken with flour. I like to use Masa for this. The Corn flour adds a nice flavor.



You have several options here...

1. flour or masa (corn flour), mix some with COLD water, then add it. Make sure you mix it with a little COLD water or it will be clumpy
2. crumble some tortilla chips in it...they will dissolve and it is basically like adding masa
3. scoop some of the chili into a food processor or blender and blend it, then add it back in
4. slow cook for a few more hours



Slow cook it with a lid on the pot askew. Moisture will steam off. Be patient.



Add some tomato paste.
