When the bridesmaids walk down the wedding aisle, should the groomsmen walk down with them?

The groomsmen are to escort the female guests to their seats. When the guests are seated, the groomsmen proceed to the sanctuary area and stand in a line. The mother of the bride is seated, escorted by the father of the bride, who returns to walk the bride down the aisle, after the bridesmaids.
Then the bridesmaids process down the aisle.
