What do Danish People love to eat? Please Help!! :D?!

Question: What do Danish People love to eat? Please Help!! :D?
I am having a Dane come live with me for a month in Tennessee. She is coming on October 10th, and I wanted to make her a "welcome food" that is Danish in her country.
Any tips? I found some kind of chocolate cookie cone thing but I wanted some more ideas.. :)

As old dirty bingo caller suggests.. Make something American. She probably just had what you were planning on making for dinner the night before and it is probably better than what you could make.

Make your favorite dish.

But ....
They like meatballs and cabbage.

If you want to make something similar to what is their national dish.....

I would suggest that you make meatballs by taking one onion per pound of meat. Make it a mixture of beef, pork and lamb if you can. or just beef. Grate the onion and add that to the meat in a big bowl. Use some salt and pepper and some water and mush the mixture until it is a paste like consistency and then form meatballs. Put in fridge to firm a bit and then either bake or fry. You could even make lots of extras and partially cook them and freeze them for later use.

Then I would make some Lipton Butter and herb noodles and a great salad of romaine, pecans, pears, bleu cheese, baby field greens.

But why not serve her Fried chicken , mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and Apple or Cherry pie with ice cream for dessert?

Or even REAL American hamburgers cooked on the grill with home made french fries and onion rings!

Or Roasted Prime Rib and new potatoes with brussel sprouts cooked with green grapes?

Have a warm cooked custard over cold canned peaches

I agree that she'll probably find her first American meal much more of a treat than your trying to cook something she's had a lot in her country. Maybe you could just add one of "her" foods as a side or dessert.

You might also want to take her to a grocery store or Whole Foods or Trader Joe, etc., and have her pick out some "traditional Danish" foods that she might like to have around and/or to introduce you to. That way she could have some of "her" foods for when she wants them or a snack (and the exact versions she wants), and that would also create something for the two of you to relate through, etc.

Danes in general eat a lot of cheese, sausages, fish, meat/potatoes, cold-weather veggies though, as well as dry flatbreads and dense rye type breads, etc. Here's a lot more about "Danish" foods:

i am sure this person is looking forward to trying some traditional american fare, they can get danish food all they want at home. try bringing them out for some great barbecue, i also live in tennessee and it is famous all over the world.

frikadeller (meatballs) or fl?skesteg (pork roast)

i think however that you should cook something local or american instead :)
then later perhaps one night she could cook something traditionally danish for you and your family
