You can order a free vegetarian starter kit,it has a couple of recipes,it has some nutrition info, and it lists some alternative options for vegetarians, like soy milk, different brands of veggie burgers, and some other reasons about why to be vegetarian. It also has advice about how to ease yourself into a vegetarian diet.

I was going to give you a thoughtful and insightful answer.
but apparently i'm too rude.
cheers for that, perhaps you should look at all the trolls questions and insults over the past 6 months before making judgements on me on your very first day here.
just cut out the meat..eat lots of fruits and veggies and with the little money you have or use the net start to look at recipes for vegans that you will like inclduing soy and other products available....make sure they are foods that you will enjoy..it is really very easy to start..
You don't really need any money to be vegetarian. Just start eating foods that aren't made with animals or animal-derived ingredients (depending on how far you want to go with it).
A vegetarian diet with enough calories costs lots of money but it's worth the price.
If you've got no enough money, this is not too difficult. Vegetable of any kinds.
Stop eating meet...it's as simple as that.
You don't have to start anything. Just exclude meat out from your usual diet. It's as simple as that. Eat lots of nuts and tofu.
Being on a vege diet is in fact, cheaper. Chop up a bunch of vegetables and stir fry. Eat it with rice, noodles or bread. Easy and healthy. There is simply too many cheap easy and healthy vegetable recipes to be listed. You can find many on the net.
So whats' stopping you? Go for it and have fun. You need to balance the diet so you get enough protein which you will get from cereals and pulses. You want to avoid eggs too? Have cottage cheese which is rich in protein and calcium. And nuts.Stick to whole foods which means whole grain cereal and potatoes with skin on. Good luck
A vegetarian diet can actually be less expensive than a meat eating diet. You can buy in bulk grains and legumes which end up quite inexpensive. Buy vegetables. Buy tofu at a chinese market.
Suppliments might be important in the beginning. I use All in One vitamin powder. There are less expensivive suppliments available. You can actually save a lot of money by being vegetarian, in fact, that's why I started when I was in college because I was trying to save on money.
I would say start cutting down on meat and gradually eat less and less. I did that without even intending to become a vegetarian, just to eat healthier, and after a while I couldn't even stand to eat meat anymore. That was 8 years ago and I'm still a vegetarian to this day.
