So what's so great about olive oil?!

Question:

So what's so great about olive oil?

Is it healthier? Why is it better to cook with? Does it taste better? I've never used it before, but I'm interested.

Answers:
yes, it is the healthiest of all oils because it has the most poly/monounsaturated fat(the good kind) and has no saturated or trans fat. It still has fat, but itz a better kind of fat. It is better for basic cooking like sauteing, and for raw foods like salads. It is not good for baking becuz it will over power your baked good and it is not good for frying, becuz it has a low smoke point. It has a very fruty taste. You should definitly start using it. buy extra virgin olive oil, it has the most flavor.

I think it is easy to cook

it's healthy fat that doesn't clog your arteries
yes, it's healthier
it's better to cook with because it adds awesome flvor and withstands high temperatures
it tastes best with most foods
there's only a few things that i don't use it for and that's frying (i use canola) and certain dishes that i want a lighter flavor (i use canola again)
try it you'll love it==make sure it extra virgin

It is healthy for you. It's better than other oils, but I am not sure why.

Yes, it is healthier. And it has great flavor, moreso than canola, corn, or veg oils. I use it for about 95% of my cooking.

Extra virgin and virgin olive oils taste like olives. That's one of the positives. Also it contains a lot of mono-unsaturated fats, which means it's a healthier oil. I like using the "light" or "extra-light" olive oils, because they don't have the taste of olives.
