Do tortilla chips need to be put in the fridge?!

Question:

Do tortilla chips need to be put in the fridge?

We bought a big bag of tortilla chips from Costco. I am sure we won't be able to finish the whole bag before the expiration date. Do tortilla chips need to be put in the fridge? Thanks.

Answers:
No babe. Just put them in a sealed container ;)

I wouldn't, they will get soggy

no just close the bag tight butt dont breake the chips

no

they dont have to be put in there but to keep them fresh and not stale it would be best to do that.

No, they draw moisture

no they'll go soft - fold the top over and clip it with a peg :-)

Oh no. They'll get wet from condensation. If you need to use them up, make a big platter of nachos. I use the usual sized bags from Safeway, and one of my nacho platters takes a whole one of those bags.

Don't put them in the fridge. It won't help. Tortilla chips usually last awhile as long as the bag is sealed good enough. I would recommend putting the chips into a plastic container with a lid. That will give it a better seal. There is a nice item you could purchase that keeps dry items like bread and chips fresh longer. I'm not sure what its called, but it is a metal box that you can put bags of chips and loaves of bread in. The box plugs into an outlet and keeps foods inside warm and dry. It's really cool. Try to find one and you can extend the life or your dry items.
