Which is the freshest of the ocean fishes?!

Question: Which is the freshest of the ocean fishes?
I am currently on a date with a guy who is trying to impress me, so he presented me with a tray of ocean fishes and I would like to know which is the freshest please. He has a vast variety of ocean fishes so which one should I pick???

Answers:

I'd say that you should politely decline the platter of ocean fishes. Instead, request that he present live ocean fishes in a tank of salt water at the appropriate salt level. Since they are alive at this point, you can know for certain which is freshest. Ask him to present each fish to you individually, and then accept the last one. Since it was the last one to leave the tank, it is naturally the freshest.
Enjoy your date!!

Impressing someone with a tray of saltwater fish??? I think this technique would probably work better on Flipper or Gloria (from Happy Feet). LOL

Anyway, what are the choices? You should at least give people a name list of fish on the tray.

Added: If fish names are unknown and you have to pick the freshest fish from the tray, you should check the following:

1) Eyes: Eyes of fresh fish will have a natural luster. The eye balls will appear moist and they will retain their original shape. The pupil will not change color. Fish that aren't as fresh will have a discolored pupil. Next up will be fish with discolored pupil and eyeballs that started to loose moisture. If the eye balls sagged already, then the fish was around for a while.

2) Grills: The grills of fresh fish will be bright red in color. The blood inside the gills will eventually turn dark red with time. If the gills appeared dark brown, then the fish have been gone for sometime already.

3) Stomach: Any fish with an unnaturally bloated stomach won't be fresh. Bacteria growth will produce gas. When there's enough gas, the fish's stomach will appear bloated. Avoid fish with an unnaturally bloated stomach even if the eyes and gills appeared okay; those fish weren't stored properly.

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to find the freshest of the ocean fishes because some people out there in our nation don't *have* fish, and I believe that our oceans like such as, the Specific Ocean, and the Atlanta Ocean, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, our fishing rods over here in the U.S. should catch the U.S., um, should help catch the bass and the salmon and the trout, so we will be able to construct new fishing rods for our children.

Ocean fishes come in a variety of freshnesses, The freshest of the fresh ocean fishes come right out of the ocean. The next fresh is the fishes from the aquarium. Dead ocean fishes are the least fresh fishes.

I Ono i guess it depends on what ocean it's from? I hear Indian ocean is terrible but the arctic has the best because the fish are the strongest, due to surviving polar bear attacks

you need to check the tray and then make your choice as you are in the best position to do so (you have the tray, I don't)

The freshest is the most recent to come out of the water

The one with the most sass.
