If you have a cheery friendly personality and dont mind smiling, you can make a LOT of $$ on tips, depending on the type of place you work.
It can be very lucrative depending on where you work and if you're good at mixing drinks and chatting and smiling and working fast.
Be forewarned. Some places want you to be very trim, and wear the most fashionable, provocative clothes. I've heard of clubs (not Hooters) in larger cities that actually make you weigh in weekly. And you have to deal with drunks trying to grab you, or knowing when to cut people off.
So it can be fun and stressful at the same time. But the tips are great!
Depends what part of the country you're in. If you're a non smoker, and dealing with a lot of 2nd hand smoke, it's not a good thing. The other thing to remember is that many bars have a lot of dumb, drunk, redneck guys who will hit on anything that moves, and some people have a hard time dealing with that. If you can avoid thiose issues, I'd say go for it. A good bar should have a bouncer, or some type of security, too. If they except you to be around 20 drunk idiot guys alone, I'd steer clear of it.

if you got a strong personality and character certainly, and if you can combine that with a beautiful body even better, and if you are not shy but you like to smile around half-drunk half-idiots and even flirt with them you can potentially make good money while having all the fun you wish with your job! Just stay sober...

bartending can be really great! but you have to choose your bar wisely!! some females are not made to handle the rougher bars and shouldnt try if they are in any way timid!! when ur behind a bar you need to be confident, and sexy. but not too sexy that the customers get distracted. u should be smiling and nice but not to nice that they feel they can run all over you!! stay in control at all times and let them know u can handle yourself or they will take advantage of you and u could end up in a potentially bad situation if they gain control over you. like i said choose your bar wisely and it helps if you drink there once in awhile get to know the customers before you start!! it will help to boost your confidence oh and i forgot there must be a level of respect between customer and bartender!!! good luck if you further questions let me know!!
