There are 2 Wing Yips in London. (www.wingyip.com) One in Croydon and one in Cricklewood. These are the places that a lot of chinese restaurants get their stuff from. If they don't sell it then you don't need it. If you visit go to the bakery and get some steamed custard buns. They are divine.

There are also a couple of Hoo Hings. (www.hoohing.com) Actually 4 in London.

I have only visited Wing Yip. They are like mini villages as there are restaurants and other sites on site. The best thing is, is that they are full of chinese people so must be good.

You can also park at wing yip and hoo hing which you cannot do in china town. You can then fill your car with yummy stuff.

Wing yip also do a great mail order service. I have used them for this and I must say it is the best packed goods I have ever received. so much care had gone into making sure nothing got broken.

Good luck on your quest.

I am not lucky enough to live in easy reach of an Oriental food store. Itried Wing Yip's on-line service and found it excellent. The postage is quite expensive, but the more you order the cheaper it gets.

Loon Fung Supermarket, Gerrard street (chinatown)
Wing Yip London, Edgware Road
Paya Thai Market, Kew Road, Richmond

There is a good Chinese Supermarket in Croydon too.
Gerrard Street in Soho is good too.

Go to Chinatown in Soho, you will find everything you need.

China Town
