How can i make chinese food that tastes like chinese food?!

Question:

How can i make chinese food that tastes like chinese food?

Answers:
You don't need MSG for it to taste like chinese food. I'm chinese and we never use MSG at home. You could add salt, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic, ginger, sugar or sesame oil. (Not everything together of course) Sometimes my mum adds these tiny anchovies to give some vegetable dishes taste as well.

Besides authentic spices, most Chinese food is cooked with MSG which gives it its distinctive taste. MSG came under fire for health concerns within the last decade, but all of my Chinese friends refuse to cook without it.

one thing is to not over cook the vegetables.

MSG adds a lot of flavour. Sesame oil added to things also tends to give more of a Chinese food taste.

you forgot to add the MSG

gather your ingredients and get them close to your wok

and then...

walk over to the phone and call the chinese restaurant in your area and order what you want...

its not about the spices and foods...its about skill!
I'm Chinese and I've been cooking Chinese food with my mom for 22 yrs...and I still can't get it to taste like Chinese food! I'm a disgrace. I can master a juicy hamburger on the grill but no luck with Chinese...I've turned Americanized. Ha its my parent's worst fear.
