These are the ingredients in my rice pilaf:
*2 tablespoons butter
*1/3 cup thin spaghetti, broken into 1 inch pieces, about 1/6 of a 1 pound box of dried pasta
*3/4 cup white enriched rice
*1 1/2 cups chicken broth or water
*Salt
It generally has veggies in it, little ones like diced carrots, diced onions and peas. It is all cooked together and that gives it flavor. There are all kinds of flavor combinations out there these days, but at it's core that is what it is.
Rice with mixed vegetables, spices, sauces, and sometimes meat too.
