Does squid taste good?!

When squid is prepared properly it is a very tasty meal! I grew up on the coast and squid was a regular meal for us. There are several ways to prepare it. My two favorites are to either slice, batter and deep-fry (otherwise known as calamari). Or you can stuff and bake it. Here's a recipe I use all the time for stuffed baked squid.

Whole squid tubes (you can buy them cleaned at most fish markets or even walmart!)
3 cups bread crumbs
1 1/2 tablespoons savoury (or italian seasoning)
2 medium onions
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
dash of pepper
thin strips of pork fat

Rinse and dry squid with a paper towel. Combine remaining ingredients except pork fat.
Fill each squid with stuffing and a strip of pork fat.
Wrap each squid in foil that has been spread with butter and a sprinkle of poultry seasoning. Making sure to tuck ends tightly.
Place on a baking tray and bake at 350 deg F for 45-50 mins.

Goes great with scalloped potatoes or fries.

If you eat calamari, it depends who made it. Some restaurants make it with tasteless octopus, but some ppl know their squid. I luv calamari dipped in tarter sauce(it is red and yummy sauce)
I was sooo scared to try it, even after my whole family ate it at everyplace we went to for appetizers(i never touched the plate) but i finally tryed it twice, and compared them, one tasted excellent, the other was very bland.

i like to cook it in spaghetti sauce for and hour ... it gets really tender and delicious. You can also cook it in butter and garlic … like a scampi but if you do that cook it hot and fast. With squid you either cook it for a couple of minutes or an hour … in between and it will be rubbery.

Tastes differ. Maybe you mom did not like its taste. In fact it is considered a delicacy by a majority of people. It has almost the same taste like shrimp but looks different. Try it once and find out whether the taste suits you.

Next to octopus, squid has to be the most delicious of sea foods. But you've' got know how to cook it properly.

Has a similar flavor to shrimp, just a different texture.

Fried squid is good, cooked any other way then it would be bland.

It tastes good if it is cooked well.
