Help with mangoes, please?!

Question: Help with mangoes, please?
I love mangoes. I live in PA and the mangoes I was getting at the store were from Mexico. They were great! But lately, the only ones available are from Brazil & they are awful. They never seem to get ripe. Is there something I can do to get them to ripen? Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!!

Answers:

Store an apple along with the mango in a brown paper bag. Make sure the paper bag opening is closed. The apples gives out ethylene gas continuously. The ethylene gas will ripen the mango. You can also ripen green bananas by storing them along with apples. Storing apples with mangoes or bananas does not effect the apples.
Ripened bananas, and ripened mangoes also give out ethylene gas. Storing green bananas or unripened mangoes along with ripened bananas or mangoes will help unripened bananas and mangoes to ripen quickly.
Mangoes ripened this way do not taste as good as on-tree ripened mangoes. On-tree ripening takes longer, the fruit is sweeter.

I would agree with "a chick", but I would use a sheet of newspaper instead, and store them outside of the refrigerator for a day at a time (and check them, repeat if necessary). This is what I do to get ripe avocados.

personal experience

Put them beside oranges because oranges release a gas that causes fruits to ripen

Put them in a brown paper bag or store them in a dark place for couple of days

Put them in a regular store bag and put them in the oven (THE OVEN IS OFF)

Put them next to bananas and keep them somewhere warm.

wrap it with news paper ,make it thicker and put inside in a plastic to make ripen fast

Put them in a brown bag.
