Satay is Indonesian.
Yellow bean sauce is Thai.
None of them are Chinese.

Satay chicken is usually served as an appetizer in Thai restaurants. May I recommend satay chicken for appetizer, chicken in yellow bean sauce for main dish and mangos on sticky rice for dessert.

If it is an Indonesian place, may I recommend satay klopo. If you don't mind compressed sticky rice, lonton is an interesting item that would go with satay. If you want to play it safe, chicken satay with nasi goreng is the way to go. You may add an fried egg on top of nasi goreng if you wish. :)

Actually satay originates from Indonesia. It has now been adopted by many cultures, including the Chinese. The base is still peanut sauce. Some communities have simplified the peanut sauce by substituting it with chunky peanut butter. It is not authentic since it lack spices like galangal, odary, lemon grass, dried chilis and such.

Another thing to note is that usually we girls would get breakouts from eating peanuts. However, some are blessed with great genes and don't have such problems.

So, back to your question...if it was up to me, I'd eat the satay anytime. Even if its not Chinese. :)

I've only had Satay Chicken when I eat at Thai Restaurants. Never heard of it being Filipino or Chinese and I've eaten Chinese a whole lot and have never seen it on their menu.
If I were to eat Chinese Food I would love me some Peking Duck and Chinese Broccoli drizzled with Hoisin sauce.

Satay chicken, but satay is not a Chinese food its a Malay food. anyway enjoy the night.

Satay chicken is NOT chinese. It's Filipino.

My personal recommendation would be chow mein. Or fried rice.
