No Chinese food doesn't have aspartame. It's MSG you're talking about. It's a chemical flavor enhancer and I have no idea why Chinese restaurants need to use so much of it because their food is delicious enough without it. Go to an Asian market and go to the sauce isle. 9 out of 10 sauces will have it.
Unfortunately, it's not just Chinese foods that use it. It's in almost all Ranch dressings (except for Paul Newmans and the refrigerated kinds) and many other foods too.
But both Aspartame and MSG are excitotoxins, which means, these chemical transmitters excite your brain cells to death!!!

I am very sensitive to it so I read every bottle. My close friend is an Asian lady who owns a fabulous Chinese restaurant and they are famous for not using MSG.
When I eat anything w/ msg, I get bad headaches and dizziness. But there are other side effects too.

The best thing to do is educate yourself and not listen to ignorant people who think chemicals won't harm you. Read labels! Avoid all msg, aspartame, gmo's

read this article. Though there are many articles if you google it.

No. Quite simply because sugar is cheaper.

As to MSG, there has never been any evidence produced that MSG does harm to anyone. It is just an urban myth and probably has racist origins.

My Chinese informant blames Chinese restaurant syndrome on the fact that so many people have a Chinese meal from a carry out / to go place to "sober up".
The nasty dry mouth / thirst comes from too much garlic.

Chinese friends.

No...aspartame is an artificial sweetener.
I think you mean MSG (monosodium glutamate) which is a flavor enhancer that is added to a lot of chinese food. Some people are sensitive to MSG & have a bad reaction to it.
