What is mentsuyu, and can I get it in Winnipeg?!
I know that it's japanese, and is used as part of soup, but I wanted to know a bit more about it, it was listed in a recipe for ramen.

Mentsuyu is a condiment made from dashi, soy sauce, mirin or Japanese sake and sugar. Dashi is soup stock of bonito and kombu, a kind of kelp. Mentsuyu is most often eaten as a dipping sauce with sōmen, soba, udon and hiyamugi. You can get it from Amazon.com.
