Are there any chicken byriani recipes that don't require yoghurt?!
I grew up with an Indian stepdad, and his family used to cook beautiful Indian dishes for me. My favourite was Chicken Byriani, but all the recipes I find seem to call for yoghurt, and I don't have any...are there any recipes that don't require yoghurt, or can I substitute something else for it?

without yoghurt it will still be a curry & yummy but won't be a biryani. From my understanding all biryanis have a youghurt base. try a tomato base instead - i think you will be impressed!
Yogurt is a critical ingredient in Biryani so unfortunately there is no substitute for it. It would be like making Tomato sauce without tomatoes. It would be better to make a quick dash to the store to get some yogurt.
