Can you help me with find a specific Mole recipe?!

Question: Can you help me with find a specific Mole recipe?
I have looked at a lot of places on the net. My great grandmother was mexican indian, she had many children one of which was my grandmother. At their house Tamales were a special food reserved for things like Christmas. Tamales i can do but because I am male, for some reason, I am not allowed to have the Mole recipe, even though it's my grandpa who makes everything these days.

I have however gotten them to talk a little bit a few times post dinner. I know it uses toast, and a lot of seeds and nuts that are stove top roasted, I think more than most mole recipes I have found. You couldn't eat gobs of it cause the high nut content would... give you issues later. It has pumpkin seeds for sure. There is NO chocolate and they acted offended at even the prospect of its use. It was not very sweet, like you wouldn't notice any real sweetness. It is chicken based, had chicken in it and is a deep red in color not brown in any way. My cousin thought qdobas mole before they started making this bbq version was close, but I believe that may have chocolate in it, maybe not. i couldn't find a solid recipe for that either to find out.

Ah, family recipes...it is amazing how they are guarded, horded or shared. My grandfathers waffle recipe went with him. And we so miss his fabulous waffles. Anyways, here's a few links to a variety of mole recipes. I figured if anything you could probably piece it together eventually by trial and error. I think these links might provide clues of how to achieve that special taste you are seeking. If anything, maybe you can at least start establishing what ingredients are NOT in the recipe. That in itself is a good start.

I'm a personal chef. I FEEL your pain!

This is where you get sneaky. Offer to help out in the kitchen when your grandpa is making it and take mental notes. Or enlist female cousins/sisters to sneakily try to find out. There's no reason a historic family recipe should be lost for the reason you mentioned.
