Where and what foods I need to buy to make it with $200 a month?!

Question:

Where and what foods I need to buy to make it with $200 a month?

I don't wanna spend $300 on food, I want to spend $200 a month if possible for just 1 person 6'2" so I eat more than a person who is only 5'8"

Answers:
Start with a well stocked pantry:

Dry Goods: Rice, beans, flour, sugar, oil, tea and coffee if you like
Canned goods: vegs, tuna, salmon, baked beans, fruit.

Toiletries and paper goods: shampoo, soap, lotion, toilet tissue, facial tissue, paper towel, aluminium foil, plastic wrap, light bulbs, plastic containers.Think of the things that you hate to be with out.

Prepare a shopping list and shop once a week. Only buy enough perishables to get you through the week.

Buy meat on sale whenever possible. Try to have at least two weeks of meat in your freezer and frozen vegs, invest in a crock pot. Make chili or stews then freeze extra.

Spend a little more to stock your kitchen, it'll save you from last minute runs to the store those extra visits are costly.

frozen chicken breasts are awesome . . .its cheaper than buying the unfrozen ones and a bag or two will last you through out the month depending on how much chicken you eat

I don't think that this should be too hard. You should always shop the sales on meats and in season fruits and veggies. Try the store brand on items like bread and milk - they are usually pretty good. I shop at HEB ( a grocery store in Texas) and my local farmers market. I don't think my husband and I spend more than 300 a month for the two of us. Also make a list before you go shopping so that you don't impulse buy. Also, if you make your list based on what you plan on eating you can be sure that you don't waste food.

Fresh fruit, vegetables, grains, and beans.

Easy to do for less than $200.

I'm single, I spend $180 a month, And I don't buy stuff on sale. I buy the same every month whether it be high priced or on sale. I have my favorites and I buy them.

50 dollars a week? Wow, you should pretty much be able to eat whatever you like. I only spend about 25-30 dollars a week on food. But to be fair I steal a lot of fruit right off of people's trees.
