No. Only in American Chinese restaurants. In China, and at the end of the meal, many of the better restaurants usually serve slices of oranges and more tea.

Alot of chinese food youfind in america and england is actually not chinese, they don't deep fry anything or put loads of salt and sugars in their foods, it's mainly fresh produce such as fish and vegtables and rice, i think if any brits or americans went to china and expected the same sort of food we would be in for a shock! (sorry didn't actually answer your question, fourtune cookies were an american invention lol)

Fortune cookies are not Chinese. A Chinese American created it. It's a Chinese American creation just as Fettucine Alfredo is not really Italian food, it's something concocted by some Italian American.
It's not Chinese at all. It's Chinese American. It's part of our culture, not theirs.

fortune cookies are actually japanese but i guess since westerners put it in chinese food people just assume that's where it's from.. anyway in japan it started from the tradition of writing small one line fortunes at shinto temples .. but now in japan not many people eat fortune cookies .. and .. i never saw it before ever in china

On my two tours(2002, 2005) in China, the after meal dessert was slices of watermelon. Ask anyone who has been on a summer tour in mainland China & they will tell you the same.

personal experience on 2 extended tours of China

They were first made in the 1800's in San Francisco and are an almond cookie. You will not find them anywhere in China.

No, because fortune cookies isn't a Chinese invention. It is an invention by Asian immigrants in the USA.

The fortune cookie is an american invention that someone came up with as a gimmick for their restaurant.

Some do, some don't. There's a lot of people in china.
