Possibly because they work all the hours they can and don't spend time on the internet whinging about poor old themselves.

I wasn't aware that the hundreds of Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese restaurants near me were all owned by Greeks. Mr. & Mrs. Yamada at the Sakura Sushi are Greek? Who knew?!

Meanwhile, one of the best Italian places near me is owned and run by a kind Hispanic couple, and there's that Gyro place one town over owned by a Persian that's been there forever (I think he's been there forever too.)

Maybe you should go order another gyro and use the tin foil it came wrapped it in to finish making your protective hat. Just remember, shiny side out. Always shiny side out.

So what you're trying to say is that Greeks shouldn't open restaurants because in our economy, we don't need anymore jobs and because the economy is doing so so so much better now?

Those people have worked long hours and probably have been through hell and back to open a restaurant.

Not really having anything to do with food and drink

do you realize the "government" has provided these Incentives for a true Entrepreneur
you and I may be still cutting wood and splitting for heating
but in the major cities a food cart make for the expansion to a full blown restaurant with government assistance
BUT you and I do not look for assistance from that source

Same goes for the Spanish restaurant owners, throw in the Italians, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Middle Eastern... and many other ethnic restaurant owners.

Without these people opening their eateries here in the US, we would be stuck with Burger King, Wendy's and McDonald's type eateries.
