What does curry mean to you?!

Question: What does curry mean to you?
Curry is very popular in many countries - what do you consider to be a curry - what does the term curry mean to you? I'm really interested what people on the Indian subcontinent think constitutes a curry.

Answers:

Curry my favorite food for one reason, well maybe more than one reason. Not to long ago I visited Japan and had a chance to try their curry which was quite good. Now since I had to deal with many Japanese students for around 10 years I got to know a lot about the food in Japan. Now I know you think curry is not Japanese, but I think both Asian regions and Western regions that cook curry have made certain twists to curry like curry with bread or rice, or curry with different veggies and spices. Strange enough when curry according to a friend of mine from Japan was considered a western food at one time due to the fact that westerners where the ones to brought it to them. I think it started with the east Indian trading company or something that brought curry over to England with Indian servants and half breeds and returning soldiers since after staying in that country that got a taste for the spicy food. Then England brought it to the world so really it is a food anyone can enjoy and can be cooked to local tastes.
