What would I like to eat in a Thai restaurant?!

Question: What would I like to eat in a Thai restaurant?
my favourite takeaway is Chinese and my favourite (although I like lots of different ones) is sweet & sour cantonese style. My favourite Indian order is Korma or Chicken Tikka Masala. Can anyone recommend what I might like if I were eating Thai food? :)

Given what you said, steer clear of the Red and Green curries, they tend to be on the spicy side.

I like the stuf you mentioned, I think they do things like Pineapple Chicken and even a Thai version of Sweet and Sour which is great, so look out for that. Try the popia or little spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, I think you'll like that.

Some of their salads are rather spicy too, so watch that.

Fried Chicken in Pandan leaf it one of my favorites, or you could go for a traditional Phad Thai, which is fried rice noodles, you can have them Veggie or with Prawns, or Chicken or Pork.

Start out with a soup like Tom Kha Gai.

Here is a recipe for it to give you an idea of how it may taste to you.

As far as an entree that is sweet and sour, go with the panang curry. I like to have it with pork, but you could try chicken.

Hope this helps.

Actually Thais are great with their salads. If you like sweet sour stuff, order their mango salad or any salad that the place would recommend. They're really out of this world! :) Thai cooking also has coconut milk in it. They do have green curries and such. But, these are zinger hot. You should try their Tom Yam Soup too. They usually include sea food in a light, herbal soup base. Again, this stuff can be potent! So ask ahead of time if they are hot. Have fun tasting! :D
