Here are some combos I've seen at some of the local restaurants around my area. I'll list Japanese styles first because they're easier to make.

1) Some common Japanese combos:
Combo A - Fried rice and gyoza.
Combo B - Ramen of your choice, fried rice, and gyoza (Japanese style potstickers; their sizes are usually smaller than Chinese potsitckers.).
Combo C - Japanese curry of your choice, fried rice, and gyoza.
Combo D - Miso soup, Japanese salad, gyoza, teriyaki dish of your choice, (optional dish such tonkatsu or karaage or tempura of your choice) and steamed rice.

2) Some common Chinese combos:
Combo A - Chinese hot and sour soup, moo shu pork with "bao bing" (aka "mandarin pancakes" and moo shu pancakes) and potstickers.
Combo B - Wor-tip (Cantonese for potstickers), "lo bak go" (turnip cake), "siu mai" and "har-gau". You could find dim-sum combos like this in some of the old American/Chinese places that serves dim-sum on weekends; I've also seen similar combos in UK. Those places usually don't have push carts.
Combo C - Pot stickers, xiao long bao (Shanghai steamed soup dumplings), Chinese scallion pancakes http://userealbutter.com/recipe_photos/c… and soup (usually hot and sour soup, seafood tofu soup or sour cabbage with pork soup...)
Combo D - Pot stickers, Chinese "chive box" ( http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3180/2780… ), Chinese beef wraps ( http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_37fRXLoLUPo/Sz… ) and beef or lamb soup.

Hi: I've served them with both soy / vinegar dip (below) and with duck sauce.

For best results, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the flavors to blend.

Yields about 1/2 cup
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:

* 8 tablespoons light soy sauce (use the real chinese kind - not kikkoman)
* 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
* 2 to 3 teaspoons granulated sugar, as desired
* 2 teaspoons chili oil (can omit if you don't like hot - or use some crushed red pepper)
* 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil - this is the dark oriental kind, find in aisle with chinese food
* 3 teaspoons minced ginger
* 2 large clove garlic, minced (can omit or use less - I don't put it in my sauce)
Green onion sliced thin to garnish.

Preparation:
Whisk together all the ingredients.

They are pretty great on their own with a Vinegar Ginger dip. You are supposed to use Chinese red vinegar, but I use Balsamic, because it's yummy, I get some fresh ginger and slice or grate it fine and put it in the vinegar, then dip away :) YUM.

since potstickers are usually considered a "dim sum" a.k.a little bite.
they go well with other little bites like fried chicken wings, fried or simply steamed shrimp, spring rolls or anything else that can be served with a sauce right along side it

stir fry asian greens, steamed rice, some kind of stir fry meat or tofu.eg: garlic and chilli chicken, ginger chicken. asian broth based soup. dipping sauce, green tea :)

Wifey makes stir fry, either steak or chicken. That goes with the whole asian theme. Maybe some fried rice?

rice and bean soup on rye bread with tomato sauce

a good dipping sauce
fried rice
