What's the deal with the Big Gulp?!

Question:

What's the deal with the Big Gulp?

Could you possibly need that much Mountain Dew?

Answers:
I can easily handle that much soda pop, regardless of type. The Big Gulp was one of the first drinks to have a 32-ounce size; originally (mid- to late 70s) the lid had two straw holes in it. Of course, now that 44oz and 64oz drinks are also available, what's the big deal about a 32-ouncer? In some of the places where I get drinks, the 32oz is now the MEDIUM!! Egads, I'd hate to see a large.

No idea, they were a big deal when I was younger, my dad always had those red cups lying around everywhere... But i do know that 7-11's nachos ROCK!!!

Share it with a carload of friends?

It's a ridiculously huge cup of crap. I dont get it either, If I did drink pop I couldnt finish that thing in a week.

I have no idea.

People bring in those triple big gulps into work and they always have an extra flap of fat attached to their behind

Just one 12 oz can of Mountain Dew has 170 calories. I cant even begin to imagine how much weight I would gain if I drank one of those Big Gulps every day and also how many nights of sleep Id miss out on because of all the caffeine. I think I'll stick to an occasional 12 oz every now and then.

the deal with a big gulp is some fat lazy person thought it would be a great idea to dring a ton of mountain dew every day to become even fatter and lazier.

I think they make even bigger ones.

Basically soda is so cheap that retailers make a lot of profit off of it. So the more they sell you, the more money they make. And while it seems the bigger the cups get the better deal we're getting, they actually still make a big profit off it.

I read this in a book about fast food industry. A medium fountain soda costs 14 cents to make. French fries are also big profit-makers for restaurants.

I use to get a Dr. Pepper one every day when I lived by a 7-11. It would last me all day from 8am-5pm, when I got off of work. It only cost me like $1. Better than wasting like $5 for a morning coffee and then $2 in the afternoon on bottles of soda from a machine.

It might have been the start of the "Super Size it" movement in the USA.

some people will say Yes ,but it depends if its a really hot day and you want something that large to cool yourself off.
