Months unopened, a few days once opened.

Probably a few years if you never open it. There may be a "best by" date somewhere on it; that date means you should eat it before then for best flavor and appearance, but it would still be safe to eat it afterwards (it just might not taste or look as good).

P.S. Prego is not the best tomato sauce in a jar. If it's available at your store, Barilla has been rated the best and I agree it does taste really good, and is more like homemade real italian.

Prego is not Italian sauce.
