What is a lemon and a lime? a Vegetable or a fruit?!

Question:

What is a lemon and a lime? a Vegetable or a fruit?

Answers:
They are both fruits.

The general rule is that if it has seeds it is a fruit. If not then it's a vegetable.

This means that Cucumbers, tomatoes and avocados are all fruits too.

Lime is a term referring to a number of different fruits (generally citruses), both species and hybrids, which are typically round, green to yellow in color, 3-6 cm in diameter, generally containing sour pulp, and frequently associated with the lemon.

They're both fruits, definitely.

"To the best of my knowledge and research the definition of fruit is:

The ripened seed-bearing part of a plant when fleshy and edible.
In other words, a "fruit" is any fleshy material covering a seed or seeds. Most fruits, from a horticultural (science of cultivating) perspective, are grown on a woody plant, with the exception of strawberries.
Or you can say, generally a fruit is the edible part of the plant that contains the seeds. So your eggplant, tomato, cucumber and zucchini are fruits.

To the best of my knowledge and research definition of vegetable is:

A herbaceous (green and leaf like in appearance or texture) plant cultivated for an edible part, as roots, stems, leaves or flowers. Or you may say a vegetable is the edible stems, leaves, and roots of the plant.
Some people think rhubarb is a fruit, because it is used to make pies. But, rhubarb is a vegetable."

Fruit of course....

Citrus Fruit

They are both citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruits.

They're closely related, & they're BOTH fruits.

Lemons and limes are citrus fruit. A fruit is a seed pod or reproductive organ on a plant.
Lemons and lime belong to the same family of plants as grapefruit, orange, and kumquat.
However, as lemon and lime are too sour or bitter to eat as food, they are used as flavoring and as acid additions for other foods. Dip apple slices (also a fruit) in lemon and they won't turn brown as fast. Dip cantaloupe slices in lime and the flavor is completely altered.
Vegetables grow in the ground like potatoes and carrots. Lettuce, kale, cabbage, and spinach are actually the leaves of plants like grasses.
Now you know!

Both are fruits, and being a surprise, so is a tomato!
