Question:

Does anyone have a recipe for humus that is easy and cheap to make?

I dont have a food processor but I do have a blender if i need it. My favorite hummus is the kind with garlic but I would like any kind. the already made kind in the grocery store is very expensive and i figured it would be cheaper to make my own

Answers:
Extra Easy Hummus

Ingredients
1 (15 ounce) can Chick Peas, drained, liquid reserved
1 clove Garlic, crushed
2 teaspoons Ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Olive oil

Preparation
In a blender or food processor combine garbanzo beans, garlic, cumin, salt and olive oil. Blend on low speed, gradually adding reserved bean liquid, until desired consistency is achieved.

Can of chickpeas drained...put in blender.....add a little tahini (sesame seed butter) olive oil, and lemon juice then blend some more....
Add crushed garlic after you have practiced a little - it can come out a lot stronger than you think

MISS LYNN'S HUMMUS

1 16oz can chick peas
1/2 cup sesame seeds
3 tbsp lemon juice
1 clove garlic
cayenne pepper to taste
black pepper to taste
parsley to taste

1. Put chick pea liquid, garlic and sesame seeds in blender on high.
2. Add chick peas and lemon juice. Blend until creamy.

3. Add cayenne pepper, black pepper and parsley. Blend for a second to mix in.

Follow the recipes but along with cayenne pepper also add some paprika - smoked is good for extra flavour. It is not hot, but has some je ne sait qoi! I might make some myself today too.
