no

Well, no and yes.
It's not fattening because of the vegetables (like lettuce, mint, cilantro, etc.) we use. Foods like spring rolls are not fattening, and I've heard that 2 rolls have about 86 calories.
It is fattening because of some of the things put into the food. My parents put this bot-ngot into it, and I think it makes it taste like chicken? I don't know but there's a hen in an apron, so I guess it does. Banh Tieu is also a (deep) fried snack, and as everyone knows, (deep) fried is bad for you.

I just guess it just depends on what your eating to make you gain weight.

No and yes. No is because us vietnamese use fresh herbals such as mint, cilantro, etc. some vietnamese people use fresh products. Yes is becuase we use a type of ingredient called bot ngot. i don't know what it is called in english. but basically it is flour or dough that makes food so good. i know this because i am vietnamese myself. If you have ever ate Pho it has bot ngot in it. but some places they make it fresh and healthy. Pho is very popular. But my answer would be no because the food we make can actually make you healthy because of the many nutrients a serving has.

Not at all. Most of it is salad-like or light-eating fare. Some things are fried but the food overall is very good. Lots of flavor, very little use of oil and simple and fresh.

Depends on what it is... just like any other food out there. Vietnamese food in my opinion though is flavorful and tastes pretty good in general.

Its healthy, but if you got a stir fry dish that might not be as healthy if it was cooked with a lot of oil. But most viet dishes are healthy enough

eating food for a long time

well it has MSG in some of it's foods but the rest is all fresh stuff so i say its not fattening

BTW i am a viet :P

Have you ever seen a fat vietnamese person?
