Question: Ingredients for the sauce used for Elote 'corn in a cup'?
i love going to Fiesta Food Market in Houston, Texas and getting an elote, 'corn in a cup'
i would love to know what the ingredients to the sauce is. its a red sauce and thats the only place, to my knowledge, that has that sauce. i would like to be able to make it at home and eat it!

Charles- I grew up enjoying Elote all the time. I think the best approach you could take is the combination of melted butter with ground red chile powder, salt & a little garlic powder. Give it a try.



Its chile piquin, powdered red pepper, you should find it in little bags in the Mexican food isle, you can also try chamoy paste or lucas chile powder.
