Sometime certain brands and the olives they use are higher in residual acid, and may be harsher, if your having this problem, cut it with a lesser virgin oil for cooking and add some vinegar or citrus juice for salads or dipping bread in.
If the oil extracted from young olives, this oil may have this little hard property than the oil extracted from riped one like what you feel. But no problem, this is effective than other normal oil. Also reduce the quantity of daily intake, for example, one teaspoon instead of two.
check if the colour of the olive oil,
if it's light colour then there's not that much use of using it/drinking it.
if the colour is dark ....dark green i mean , then YOU GOT IT! it's the best.
i recommend you eat olive , then you can get other benefits too.
I so love black olives because they taste way way better then green ones.
hope this was a useful tips, thnx.

Yes. Pure olive oil contains an anti-inflammatory compound like ibuprofen that makes your throat sting a little when you ingest it. You can read about it here: http://health.dailynewscentral.com/conte…
