What is the source of Kefir grains?!

Question: What is the source of Kefir grains?
Kefir grains said to be a powerful health source. If we are far away from United States where it is familier, and it is hard to alive for long time reaching home by postel service, as well as it is high cost to receive through speed post, is it possible to make it at our home ourselves and what is the source of the grains? How to make it with healthful alive condition?

If anybody have social services responsibility and broad mind to help people, may help me to have this idea.

Thanks!

Answers:

Kefir grains cannot be produced from scratch, but the grains grow during fermentation, and additional grains are produced. Kefir grains can be bought or donated by other growers. And since kefir grains, when taken care of, last forever and actually grow and become more, you only need to buy one or get a single batch of kefir grains to make all the kefir you will ever want. Not to be confused with commercial kefir starters or cultures that eventually lose their potency requiring you to reorder again and again. Real kefir grains never need to be reordered. With proper care they last forever.
