Question: Have I eaten too much?
Hi! Im 15 and im trying to lose weight.
Today, I've eaten; One egg, four crackers with a small bit of margarine on them, about three pints of water and a tuna and Mayo sandwich made from two pieces of White bread.. My mom is now cooking some veg..should I eat it? I want to lose weight and keep it off.
Thanks!

The Egg is great so long as you poach it rather than fry it, water is brilliant, try changing the crackers for fruit, replace your white bread for wholemeal as it has a far better nutritional value than white bread, that also goes for things like pasta, the wholemeal versions not only fill you up because they are higher in fibre (so you will be far less likely to snack between meals), but nutritionally, they are going to give you far more of what your body needs than processed white bread. Remember, eating unprocessed foods really is the key to a healthy lifestyle. I think perhaps you need to do a little research on weight loss before you embark on a diet. Look for information based on diets that incorperate all of the food groups rather than cutting out things that your body may need and experiment with different types of recipes that will ensure you don't get sick of the healthy food and reach for the biscuit tin. If your choice is to eat vegetables or eat nothing, always go for the vegetables. Lean meat and fish, wholegrain cereals, fruit and low fat dairy products are also essential to healthy weight loss.
And always remember to listen to your body. If your still hungry it's because you haven't eaten enough. Grab some Vegies and enjoy!

You're eating too little.

Losing weight isn't just about food, you included what you ate but there's nothing here about exercise of any kind. Your metabolism isn't being taken into consideration, you need to kick start it in the morning by eating a healthy moderate breakfast. This will keep it burning food through the day. Small snacks are generally alright between meals but the 3 main meals are definitely more important. Make sure you eat them in order to reduce hunger and increase metabolism.

Dieting isn't really losing weight, it's starving your body till it deteriorates and then as soon as you feel happy about your weight and begin eating again it will go back up. Eating healthily and in moderation combined with a healthy lifestyle is the only way to quote 'keep it off.'

Hope this helps

Thats fine what you've eaten. defnitely not to much!! Maybea little o little. aim for about 1200 - 1500 calories each day. and plenty of exercise!!! You should start to lose weight then!!
and vegetables = practiclly no calories or fat!! So they're fine to eat!

Remember if you're going to lose wieght, lots of veg adn fruit! and water!! Keep away from junk food also!! :)

**Burn more than you consume and you're fine to eta what you want... but its easier to eat less and do a bit more than normal exerxise routing!

NO! You have hardly eaten anything at all! That is not enough food for your body to function on. If you want to lose weight effectively & not give yourself an eating disorder (which you will do if you carry on as you are) you need to eat properly. Lots of healthy food, little & often.

actually you haven't eaten enough. try eating six small meals a day, all healthy foods including all of the basic food groups. exercise, walking alone works wonders. the weight will come off, yes it may take some time, but it will come off and more importantly, stay off.

You need to eat more than that! You should be eating around 1000-1500 calories depending on your weight and how much you want to lose AND if you are exercising. Go eat a proper dinner and research a healthy diet to start tomorrow or buy a calorie counter book...that helps me alot! Good luck :)

You did not eat too much and yes you should eat the veggies. Next time cut out the cracker, and try the sandwich with one piece of bread. Eating fruits and veggies and whole grains is the key to losing weight, not drastically limiting the amount you eat!

That sounds ok, but please don't starve yourself! The less calories you eat, the more your body tends to gain the weight right back up. Keep it at a reasonable number, and stay healthy. :D

That is NOT enough food for a person of your age, unless you're about 2ft tall!
