could it be the MSG in the Chinese food? that is making me feel sick?!

Question: Could it be the MSG in the Chinese food? that is making me feel sick?
I love Chinese food, but dont eat it often
. I had Chinese food today at a certain restaurant, been there twice and both times I felt like I had a lump in my throat and sick to my stomach about an hour after eating it. I have never had this problem at the place we usually go to. Does anyone know why I am having this kind of reaction to it? Thanks to anyone who may try to answer! :O)

First off, It's probably not the MSG. There was a test that proved that the MSG in foods had no effect on most people. So you shouldn't have to worry about that. As to why your feeling like that, I don't know. It's probably what they put in the food. Try going to another resturaunt and eat the chinese there. If the food doesn't affect you there, It's probably the ingredients the 1st resturaunt uses. If not, It's just your bodys reaction to Chinese food. Hope this helped.

WONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!

Allergy to MSG is not an uncommon thing, you might not have noticed it before because of the dosage or combination of ingredients. However as far as I know MSG has other side effects such as allergies and headaches not stomach cramps. A sore throath could be caused by high acidic content which would also explain the stomach pains, however you would need to include more details on what exactly you ate. If it was meat then it could have been contaminated which would explain the stomach cramps, and the throat pain might be caused by another ingredient or may not have anything to do with what you ate.

I doubt it's a problem with msg. Since the problem you are having is related to this particular restaurant, I would suggest it's the restaurant. There is a chinese buffet one of my sons likes to go that makes me feel not well every time. He has no problem but, it's a place I no longer eat at. It's the only place I have a problem with.

If you have an allergy to Msg you would also have an allergy to foods like tomatoes, Parmesan cheese ,mushrooms, soy sauce and broccoli - all these foods contain glutamate naturally

Chines food makes me sick! That's why I don't eat it.

Every time I have Chinese food, I don't poop for days, but I never learn my lesson..
