If anything, Chinese cuisine makes me sick.

According to Chinese medical science, every plant on earth has a healing effect or health benefit. If a plant can cure an illness while giving a side effect at the same time, then some other plants or herbs can be added in order to counter the adverse effects or to complement the benefits. That is why traditional Chinese herbal medicinal teas and soups always contain at least a few ingredients.

If you go to Chinese groceries, you can find soup packs, packages containing different combinations of herbs and dried plants that we make soup with, and each should give you some health benefits. I have one at home and it shows: pearl barley, lotus seeds, dioscorea, lily bulb, fox nuts, longan, polygonatum. This is a very common soup that's supposed to keep our internal body balanced, I can either make a savory soup by adding pork, or simply add rock sugar (not refined). Chinese people also make soup with the silk and husk from corn as it cures diabetes.

Healing cuisine is simply using ingredients that have obvious health and curing benefits when we cook.

i don't
