Hobos. You put already cooked potatoes and meat and any veggies you want in it and then you cook it over the fire until the meat is done

Camp Burritos

1 lb ground sirloin
1 4 oz can salsa
1 tsp ground cumin
1 10 oz pkg frozen spinach
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
10 large burrito size flour tortillas, or more if smaller size
1/4 tsp each of black pepper and salt

In a large skillet brown the ground sirloin. Add the ground cumin, salt, pepper and the salsa.

Add the spinach and heat through. Meanwhile heat the tortillas on a flat griddle or skillet. Fill tortillas with meat mixture, top with grated cheese and roll up.

NOTES: Can also use ground turkey or chicken. Make sure it's lean or you'll have to drain the meat after browning. You can also mix the cheese into the meat mixture just before serving. This makes for really easy serving.

The spinach should be defrosted, just drain any liquid from it as best you can. I take it out of the store packaging and put it in a ziplock bag when we leave home, then just open the bag and squeeze.

Bacon-Cheese Weenie Roast

1 pack hotdogs

Split the hotdogs without going the whole way through. Tear strips of cheese and tuck into the slits.

Wrap each entire hotdog with a slice of bacon and fasten with toothpicks.

Roast over an open flame until bacon is crispy-tender and hotdog is heated through

i put hamburger patties and sliced potatoes with spices in a foil packet,, put it over the fire for a while and it taste so good

One of my favorites is lasagna. You can make it homemade or you can buy one of those frozen ones. Anyways cook it at home. When its done let it cool until it gets firm. Cut it up into individual pieces and wrap in foil. Now all you have to do is heat and eat!

Here is a recipe: Take tin foil and place a pork chop in the center put sliced potatoes, onions and carrots on top. 1 table spoon of butter, salt and pepper. Wrap up the foil and place on grill, cook for 45 minutes and you'll have an easy dinner. You can make up several before you go camping. Have fun!

We take our turkey fryer and cook just about anything in it, from corn dogs, to cajun catfish to fried okra. However, if you are looking to grill a one dish meal in a cast iron skillet over the wood fire, I would recommend Jambalya. You could bring pre-cooked corn muffins to accompany it.
