Only on certain type of sweets. It does no harm.

It is not a necessary addition as this is done only for decorative purposes. It doesn't have an smell or taste. The edible silver leaf decoration is made out of PURE silver and is sold in very thin sheets. It is extremely fragile and often breaks up during use. The amount of silver in those sheets is negligible.

Cons - I've heard of some cases in which the silver leaf decorations are not PURE. People adultrate the mix to LOOK like silver. This could be harmful for edible purposes. If the edible silver leaf is coming from a trusted source then no need to worry.
