(i) Meat and two veg I would suggest are common over most of Europe not just the UK.

(ii) I think its an attempt to introduce sweet sauces adapted to the local palette

(iii) Absolutely false a beef stew with Worcester Sauce and beer or or wine has great depth of flavour we used cloves, anchovies, vinegar, walnuts, tamarind, and cayenne in Victorian times.

(iv) False traditionally the Sunday roast stretched to 2 or 3 meals leftovers on the Monday and sometimes the Tuesday meat was bought in sides and the complete animal needed to be sold poultry was expensive till recently so ******* sausages and many more foods were served a little meat and load of veggies to bulk it out and make money go further

(iv) A Sunday roast is usually eaten as the midday meal, not the evening meal, but this may be different in other parts of the UK than where I live. A typical sunday roast is a meat joint of some kind, potatoes, gravy, yorkshire pudding and those two veg from above.
