For serious vegatarians only?.......?!

Question:

For serious vegatarians only?.......?

ok, i posted this yesterday and after seeing the 7 answers (yes, i'm counting the meat guy). I went in to edit it and ended up stopping the question from continuing. Hopefully my 7 answer back plus. I am reposting because no completely understood what i was saying. The original question:

I'm a meat eater and always will be. I see your posts all the time and am curious what the vegetarian "thought process" is on this.... Assumming that for whatever reason you are one, i am guessing that you wish that everyone would follow suite. what is the game plan for all the animals that are currently out there and how would you handle population control. I'm not harshing on vegetarians, to each his/her own. I'm looking for some thought provoking dialogue and sincere long thought out answers. Have it at........

to answer those responses so far, (i'm addressing them as a whole so as not to "fight" with anyone. These may or may not make sense if you didn't read the first post.

forget about the meat guy's carrot and tiger comment.

my comment about population control is this. I agree that the meat industry is just that. that is my point. you can't just say nature takes care of it's own if we have artificially muliplied the population. this is the 21st century not the 1700's. back then you could probably let loose all the animals but today you can't. Land is scarce, farmers or rather ranchers if "now" not raising animals have to use thier land for say raising soy for tofu etc. aren't going to allow them on their property, some one mentioned neutering, who is going to do this /absorb the cost, etc. this is what i meant by a games plan, population control. Vegan conscript, it is a hypothetical question, not sure what i confused you with (not a sarcastic comment). thanks all.

AGAIN, supposed to initate a dialogue and open exchange of ideas.

I would say as far as population control, lets say hypothetically the government, population, what ever decided that they are no longer going to eat meat. Do you really think that the next morning the entire population is going to go vegetarian. A gradual phase out of all meat eating is more realistic. As less animals are bred for food, the remaining ones will be killed(unfortunate, but trying to keep your hypothietical situation as realistic as possible). When the animals in facotries are killed, there will be no more to replace them. Thus no over population of cows, chicken, etc.

Change of any kind is more often than not a gradual process. If this situation was real, I would assume it would take months to accomplish the total goal of no more animals raised to food.

i personally don't believe that eating meat is wrong. i believe that the way in which we procure that meat is wrong. all sentient beings deserve to be treated with respect, not selfish cruelty. so yes, if i had my way cows would graze and chickens would have a working pecking order (just to name a few things). the ramifications of that kind of meat and poultry production would be less availability and a higher price. currently as a species we are consuming more meat then is necessary for our survival, so a decrease on our meat intake would not harm us in any way. however, i am realistic and realize that humane treatment of animals is not on the top of most people's list of priorities.
