How long is it safe to drink from a bottle of water after you've opened it?!

Question:

How long is it safe to drink from a bottle of water after you've opened it?

I don't want to make myself sick, but neither am I interested on wasting the water I purchased if I didn't finish it the day before. Do you know how much refrigeration or lack thereof will affect the safety?

C'mon people, get real. It's not "just water." Fungus, bacteria, microbes, and the like love water, and I've gotten ill with vertigo that gave me trouble for a few days from drinking bottled water that was opened two days previous.

If you don't get any saliva on the opening of the bottle, and haven't backwashed into the water, it will keep for a while - but I agree with the chef that one day is right. Any contaminants can multiply in standing water. If you put your mouth on the bottle, or backwash, toss it at the end of the day.

If its only water, it will be perfectly fine for a long time, even if you have opened it.

It's water. It's been on this planet for millions of years. No one gets sick from water.

Its hydrogen and oxygen they don't get stale nor would the ionic bonds make you sick if you've broken the vacuum seal.

Truly I am scared for the future of our country and our planet with questions like this. And for that matter some of these answers.

PEOPLE!!! It's water. It doesn't have an expiration date. Put the cap back on so dust doesn't get inside and mold won't form. And drink at your leisure.

am curious to see answer on this also for have heard varying opinions

would think it is like anything else - after several hours would bare potential to become less than appealing

Do not drink it...once you open the cap, I read you MUST consume it within 113 minutes or you can develop a communicable disease>>>read disentary! Protect yourself>>>throw it out after 113 minutes and don't pour it on plants or grass or pour it down the drain...you can devistate the ecosystem. Save our planet>>>>peace!

it'll always be safe to drink. as long as the bottle is not opened and contaminates have not gotten into the water it will be okay to drink.

Don't worry it's very safe belive me:) I do this all the time and I have never gotten sick because of this!!!
