Vegetarian weight loss quickly?!

Question:

Vegetarian weight loss quickly?

I've been a vegetarian for about a year now and I really need to lose some weight (talking about 50lbs.). I am a fencer, but I'm on break right now, so not much activity there (suggestions for that welcomed, too). I find that I eat a lot of fried food and veggie burgers and A LOT of bread and potatoes. I don't think it's exercising because my weight is the same as when I was actively fencing 3 times a week. Can anyone give me some pointers on what to eat (again, vegetarian) so that I'm not stuck with salads? I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong or what I need to cut/add. Also, what is normal weight for a 5'2" girl? No rude answers, please. Thank you.

Answers:
Smoothie (made with two servings fruit and 1/2 cup silk or skim milk) and Special K (or other cereal) with 1/2 cup silk or skim milk for breakfast, same for lunch, rice cake spread with ONE tablespoon of peanut butter for a snack and a sensible dinner (around 400-500 calories) plus all the fresh veggies you feel like eating throughout the day. Stick to it and exercise and you will see results.

cut out all the junk (ex. fried food, sweets), do some cardio and maintain a healthy diet and you will lose the weight you want to lose. hope this helps :) normal weight for some one whose 5'2" would be 110 (add 5lbs to every inch you grow) :)

Eat more whole fruits and veggies. less carbs. try to eat carbs 30 minutes-1 hour before your going to work out if you can arrange it like that in the day, at least sometimes.

Various shopping lists of vnv, including my own above =).

avoid all cheese products and junk food best is home coked food if possible eat only boiled food for two weeks and see the difference all the best

I quit eating wheat in last November. I was allergic to it. As a side effect I lost 25 pounds without even trying! Now I stick to corn tortillas, quinioa, amaranto, rice, mung bean threads, that kind of easily digestible carbs.
