Are chips still good if they haven't been opened...?!

Question: Are chips still good if they haven't been opened...?
but you've had it for a year?

Answers:

They're probably still fine - they inflate the bags with nitrogen, which won't react with the food, and isn't poisonous. At worst the chips might be a bit stale but they won't kill you.

Are you talking potato chips or the frying variety.

Either way it shouldn't really matter. If potato chips, open them and check them out.

Same for the frying variety, however I think these would be past their best.

They should have an expiration date on them. As long as the date hasn't expired they should be alright but a year is quite along time. They are probably expired by now..

I was just wondering the same thing. Right after I opened this bag.

Crunch...Munch...Chomp.

Open up the bag and sample one. If they have that stale taste toss 'em out.
