Who makes the best, most authentic tasting, canned re-fried beans?!

Question: Who makes the best, most authentic tasting, canned re-fried beans?
I've tried many kinds but none comes even close to tasting like what my Grandma used to make.

Answers:

I cannot say whether they taste authentic, but I was not impressed with any of the canned ones until I tried La Coste?a. I thought they were pinto beans but the label says Frijoles Bayos Refrito which apparently means they use Kidney Beans.

I buy them from a farmer's market type store that has foods from all over, but here is a link to the Web site:

They are delicious to me and I just happened to pick up a can on sale one night when I was making fajitas. Great find!

I used canned whole beans now - gave up on the pre-made versions too. I use pintos (or black beans - yum). In a sauce pan I put a bit of cut-up bacon and cook it till lightly crispy. Removed the bacon (save for a salad later). Then I add the canned beans and mash them in the pan. Makes way better taste and way way less preservatives.

A can will never replicate your Grandma's cooking!

If your Grandma made her beans from scratch, the closest you can get is finding someone that makes them like hers, or make them yourself.

As far as the best brand of canned re-fried beans, I've found them all to be very similar.

use canned whole pinto beans or black beans to make re-fried beans ...it's quick and I've fooled ALOT of people into thinking they were totally homemade.

They all taste and have a horrible texture. Please make them from scratch, it isn't hard at all.
