What's the difference between Irish and English Cheddar Cheese?!

Question: What's the difference between Irish and English Cheddar Cheese?
I picked up some Irish Cheddar Cheese at the store last night. It was next to regular cheddar cheese and English Cheddar Cheese. Both the Irish and English are a pale yellow color and are both labeled as "Firm, buttery texture with a somewhat savory and sweet flavor profile." So,my question is what's the difference in the two?

They are the same. Most English cheese is made in Ireland but just packaged in the UK.

I seriously doubt the (Grass) has much to do with anything
because most dairy stock are fed a prepared feed - carefully formulated to maintain their standards
but they are NOT set out to pasture for sure
I don't have web sites to prove this and / or dairy practices in th U K

but the basic recipe for cheddar is so similar the only factors might be the bacterias they use and the length of aging

Irish dairy cows are fed grass. http://www.kerrygold.com/usa/media_gener…

There are too many different Irish and English Cheddar Cheeses to say what the difference is between them is. There are vast differences even between different Irish Cheddars.

The differences are many, where the cows graze, what type of grass they are grazing on, the type of cow. Since they both had the same profile, they were probably made in the same manner.

Irish cheddar is generally milder than English cheddar.
